Lean is NOT about working FAST

Lean is NOT about being fast.  Lean is about doing the right thing at the right moment each and every time.
Is Lean about working faster?

Lean can reduce how long it takes to complete a process by removing unnecessary steps but this is NOT the primary goal of Lean.

Lean is customer focused and not applied to help you work faster.

A Lean mindset is to serve the customer by providing value.

Lean is NOT about being fast.  Lean is about doing the right thing at the right moment each and every time.

Waste is the ENEMY. Waste creates more work for you and less value for the customer.

You should only work as fast as you can without creating waste.

Less processing time can be a side effect of eliminating waste but only if it is in line with creating value for the customer.

Lean is about being so organized and having such a clear understanding of the intended purpose of the process you can’t be wrong.

When you see people working in a Lean environment you won’t see panicked faces and frantic movements.  Instead you will see methodological actions completed in the right order each and every time.

This give the impression of working faster but that is just the power of Lean.
